Do you make room to enjoy life?

Dear Reader,
When was the last time you did something just because you enjoyed it?
Last week, I spent seven days on a cruise with my mom aboard the Discovery Princess. This week, I want to share a little of the joy I experienced, along with some photos from our trip.
Now let's get ALIGNED...

The Story
My mom says she likes cruising because she likes to be pampered. I can certainly appreciate that, but when I think about why I enjoy it, my list gets a little longer.

We sailed out of Los Angeles along the Mexican Riviera, visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta. One of my favorite things about cruising is getting to visit different places without having to pack and unpack at every stop. Our food and lodging are taken care of, and there’s always something delicious on the menu that I want to try.

But I also love the experience of being on the ship. I took Zumba classes, worked out at the gym, and danced in the piazza. I enjoyed lying on the heated stone tables in the spa and simply watching the water. Having so many ways to enjoy myself, whether I wanted to be active or relax, was part of the pleasure.

Then there were the people. I loved being around fellow passengers who were there to have a good time, along with the friendly crew members who took care of us throughout the week. There’s something wonderful about seeing so many happy faces and sharing in that enjoyment.

I also enjoyed sharing photos and tips in a Facebook group for our ship, answering questions, and giving shout-outs to crew members. People started recognizing me on board and telling me they’d enjoyed my posts, including some of the crew themselves. Those exchanges became another part of what made the trip so much fun.
So yes, Mom, the pampering is lovely. But for me, it’s also the food, the dancing, the ocean, the friendly faces, and getting to enjoy it all with you.
The Spiritual Lesson
I believe the purpose of life is to enjoy life. And being on a cruise ship is a wonderful reminder that we each have our own ideas about what that looks like. You might love dancing in the piazza, or you might prefer curling up in a quiet corner with a book, enjoying a beer by the pool, playing trivia, or trying your luck at roulette. You might also have no interest in cruising and would happily choose something entirely different.
What brings you joy doesn’t have to look like what brings anyone else joy. But it’s worth noticing how much room you give yourself to enjoy what you love. Do you choose what feels good and natural to you, or do you sometimes set it aside because of ideas about how you’re supposed to spend your time or live your life?
For me, joy is the highest vibration, an expression of Spirit moving through us. When you allow joy to express through you, you tap into a creative energy that is uniquely yours. On this trip, I found myself enjoying writing posts, answering questions, and getting to know people through those conversations. Following that enjoyment became a way to connect and contribute.
Your joy may lead you somewhere entirely different. But paying attention to what makes you feel alive helps you recognize what feels natural to you and what you want more of in your life. I believe following that joy brings you into alignment with Spirit and opens you to ideas, connections, and opportunities you might otherwise overlook. It also helps you trust your own experience instead of letting other people’s expectations decide how you live.
You don’t have to know where your joy will lead before giving it room in your life. You’re allowed to enjoy something simply because you enjoy it.

Your Call to Action
This week, I invite you to make room for something you enjoy. It could be something you’ve been missing or something new you’ve wanted to try. You don’t need to be good at it or have a reason beyond wanting to enjoy the experience.
What would you choose if you let your own joy guide you? Choose something, give it a place in your week, and notice how you feel when you do.
I’d love to hear what you choose. Hit reply and tell me what brings you joy.
May you trust what makes you feel alive, make room for what delights you, and allow Spirit to express through you in ways that are uniquely yours.
Abundant Blessings and Namaste.

10 • 13 • 2026 Dear Reader, Have you ever felt clear about something you were being called to do, only to discover that someone else couldn't understand why you would choose that path? It can catch you off guard, especially when you've spent time listening to Spirit and feel at peace with your decision. You might expect others to share your excitement, or at least be curious about what led you there. But sometimes their response is very different from what you imagined. In this week's...
09 • 29 • 26 Dear Reader, Have you ever felt something shift inside you before anything in your life had actually changed? Maybe it was a decision you hadn't made yet, or a possibility that wouldn't leave you alone. On the outside, life looked exactly the same, but on the inside, something was already moving. I've had a few moments like that. One of them began on an ordinary Monday morning years ago, and it's still teaching me something about how we experience life. Now let's get ALIGNED......
Welcome to ALIGNED The Newsletter for Living a Life of Abundant Goodwith Spiritual Life Coach Joselito Laudencia September 15, 2026 edition (Happy Birthday to me!) Dear Reader, When Richard and I visited a small church in Buenos Aires back in early August, there was a confessional roped off like a museum exhibit, with prayers and photographs and handwritten notes scattered around it. We'd gone there on purpose. I knew the story behind that particular confessional, and I wanted to see it for...
