Dear Reader,
When was the last time you knew something, but just couldn't bring yourself to act on it?
It wasn't because you were confused, but because everyone around you was doing something different. And going against the grain felt harder than just going along.
Most people don't have a name for that space between what you know inside and what you end up doing. Today I want to give it one.
Now let's get ALIGNED...

The Story
Early last year, one of my clients and her family were forced to evacuate during the Los Angeles wildfires.
Like so many others, they left quickly, not knowing when or if they'd be able to return.
It took a long while for the neighborhood to be rebuilt and cleared of enough surface toxins to be deemed safe. When that day finally came, she faced a decision she hadn't anticipated. Everyone she knew was returning. Everything she was used to and comfortable with was calling to her.
But something inside her wasn't so sure.
She couldn't fully name it, just a nagging feeling she couldn't put her finger on. Was it actually safe to go back? Was the life she had known there still the life she was meant to return to?
Her community was there. Her history was there. Everyone around her was making the same choice, which made her inner questioning feel almost unreasonable.
Resistance rarely shows up loud and clear. It shows up as a quiet but persistent question you can't quite shake.
She wasn't sure whether to trust that inner voice or go along with what everyone else was doing. For a while, she sat right there in that tension, not knowing which way to move.
The Spiritual Lesson
This past Saturday I led a workshop called The Hero's Journey, which looks at the universal story of becoming who we're called to be.
One of the stages we explored is called The Resistance. It's the moment when the call forward is clear, but everything familiar is pulling you back. And in every story of real change, it shows up without fail.
Most of us were never taught that. So when resistance shows up, we tend to interpret it as a sign that something is wrong, that we're being foolish and should probably just go back to what we know.
But resistance showing up doesn't mean you're on the wrong path. It often means you're on the right one.
My client wasn't being dramatic or unreasonable. She was standing at the edge of something real, and some part of her knew it. The nagging feeling she couldn't put her finger on wasn't confusion. It was her inner wisdom asking her to slow down and pay attention.
The question is never whether resistance will show up. It will. The question is whether you're willing to get curious about what it's telling you.
That shift, from seeing resistance as a problem to seeing it as helpful information, is where everything begins to change.
Your Call to Action
For your coaching assignment this week, I invite you to be with this question:
Where in your life are you feeling resistance right now?
I'm not talking about the loud, dramatic kind, but the quiet nagging feeling you can't quite put your finger on, the one that keeps coming back no matter how many times you push it aside.
Simply sit quietly with that feeling for a few minutes without trying to fix or dismiss it. And then ask yourself honestly: if fear weren't part of the equation, what would I do?
You might be surprised by what comes up.
And if you find yourself wanting to explore what's coming up with some support, I'm here. Just hit reply.
May you move through this week a little more gentle with yourself, a little more curious about what's stirring inside you, and a little more willing to trust what you already know.
Abundant Blessings and Namaste.
