Dear Reader,
There’s something about being on vacation that opens us up.
We slow down, breathe a little deeper, and remember what it feels like to truly be in the moment.
The rhythm of life changes. It's less about to-do lists and more about what feels alive right now.
Recently, Richard and I took a cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and I was reminded of this truth in the most unexpected ways.
We planned a few things we knew we’d love, but we also left plenty of space for surprise, for flow, for the quiet nudge of Spirit to lead the way.
That balance between structure and surrender became its own kind of spiritual practice.
It made me wonder:
What if the ease and joy of vacation weren’t something we escaped to, but something we could live from every day?
Curious what that might look like?
Now let's get ALIGNED...

The Story
When Richard and I boarded our cruise ship in San Juan, we were ready for adventure.
We had chosen a couple of excursions that sounded amazing: a catamaran journey to a beach with a lobster lunch, and a trip to the Harrison Caves in Barbados.

Both promised wonder, beauty, and connection to nature, and they didn’t disappoint.
But what surprised us most wasn’t the planned experiences. It was what unfolded in between.
We met so many incredible people on that trip.
Conversations over breakfast. Shared laughter in the elevator. Chance encounters on the ship’s deck that turned into meaningful connections.
We heard about the infamous Maho Beach where commercial jets fly right over the beach, looking like they might land on you!

These moments weren’t on any itinerary, but they added such depth and sweetness to the journey.
I realized that by leaving space in our schedule, by not filling every moment, we had created room for grace to enter.
Life knew exactly what it wanted to show us, and all we had to do was stay open.
The Spiritual Lesson
So often, we separate “vacation life” from “real life.”
On vacation, we give ourselves permission to rest, play, and follow our joy.
But once we return home, we slip back into patterns of control, productivity, and busyness.
What if “vacation consciousness” was not about where we are, but about how we move through life?
It’s an inner orientation, a way of living guided by presence, curiosity, and trust.
It’s the willingness to make choices from joy rather than obligation, to plan enough for support but not so much that we miss the magic of the unexpected.
When we live with vacation consciousness, we start to see our daily lives as opportunities for wonder.
The morning cup of coffee becomes a ritual of gratitude.
A walk around the neighborhood becomes an adventure in noticing beauty.
Even a conversation with a stranger can become a moment of grace.
It’s a shift from doing life to being with life.

Your Call to Action
Take a moment to reflect:
🪶 Where might you invite a little more “vacation consciousness” into your daily rhythm?
🪶 Is there something you can plan just enough to support yourself, while still leaving space for surprise?
🪶 How might joy guide your choices this week?
You don’t have to go on a cruise to live in flow. You just have to remember that life itself is always inviting you to come aboard.
May you move through your days with the same openness and delight you bring to your travels.
May you trust the guidance of your inner compass.
And may your heart stay curious enough to see where life wants to lead you next.
Abundant Blessings and Namaste.
